First Bend of the Yangtze River - Stone Drum Town
 From Tangula Snow Mountain in the Nothern Tibetan Plateau, the swift
Yangtze River's source, it performs a miraculous about - face at Stone
Drum. First flowing south, then north, the river has shaped a dramatic
triangle at an area of about 50 square kilometers. The extraordinary
geological phenomenon of the First Bend of the Yangtze River has
deeply influenced the formation of the river.
 The beautiful hoary Stone Drum is a town of vital military
importance,was chosen as a point to cross the river by Zhuge Liang,the
most intelligent strategist in Chinese history, Kublai Khan, the
grand- son of Genghis and founder of the Mongol dynasty in China, and
the Red Army led by Chairman Mao.
