Yichang City
Situated at the eastern mouth of the Xiling Gorge, Yichang is the economic and cultural center of the western Hubei
Province. Its history can be traced back to the Three Kingdoms Period,
as early as 278 B.C. and it was once a key strategic place scrabbled
in battles between the Shu and the Wu kingdoms.
Cruise ship frequently stop at Yichang for the
excursions to Gezhouba Dam and the Three Gorges Dam.
