 Visitors to the Deqen
Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture are sure to find themselves in
a land where mysterious tranquility pervades every inch of
the ever-changing scenery. Three snow-capped mountains, Meili,
Baimang and Haba, tower magnificently over the landscape. The
region is crisscrossed by the Golden Sand, Mekong, and Yangtze
Rivers. These snowy peaks form a beautiful backdrop whose beauty
is a feast to behold. Mirror-like lakes, scattered across the
vast expanse of grassland, look like rich jewels inlaid on a
beautiful tapestry. Cattle graze leisurely in the meadows, where
exotic flowers and luxuriant grass wave at the request of the
gentle breeze. In the depths of the surrounding forests is an
exotic world of rare birds and animals. Dongwang Gorge is 58
km long, the trekking path will follow the Dongwang river which
is a tribute of Golden Sand River, the lowest spot of the riverbed
is only 2000 m above sea level, but the mountains on both
sides
stands above 4000 m. The local Tibetan family's houses are as
big as castle, enough to accommodate our trekking group. It's
warm and comfortable to stay with the Tibetan families inside
the gorge.

Arrive in Kunming, meet at airport and transfer to a 4 star hotel. Kunming, the Capital city of Yunnan, called the City of Eternal Spring, is more than 2200 years old. |

Take a morning flight to Zhongdian, the gateway to Tibet. Experience authentic Tibetan culture in this mountainous region. You'll spend some time at altitudes above 9,000 feet. Visit Napa lake and Songzanlin Monastery, where the Yellow Hat School of Tibetan Buddhism is practiced. This large center, base for 1200 monks before the destruction of Tibet in the 1950's, is experiencing a significant rebirth. Overnight at a 4 star Hotel in Zhongdian. |

Enjoy the exquisite drive from Zhongdian to Dongwang(180km). On the way, enjoy the beautiful little snow mountain view. You will stay with a Tibetan family overnight. |

Start trekking into the gorge, this is an easy riverside trail to walk. At noon we stop for our picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we get to a small village . Stay with the Tibetan family. |

D5 |
After breakfast, we hike up a mountain where there is a Tibetan pasture. We stop for a rest and refill some spring water. In the afternoon, we will arrive at a beautiful village called Secang which set in the middle of the mountains. Overnight with Tibetan family. |

D6 |
Today is a hard trek, we will climb up a mountain(3600m), watch great views of magnificent mountain range and camp beside a hunters' hut. |

Today we will go on walking on the tough trails, hard trek brings you the most beautiful scenes. Camp. |

Get down a big slope and take a great view of the highest peak in the
area (Balagengzong, 5360m), stop at a waterfall for lunch. Get down a slope to a village called Maowu(2200m). |

Walk along the Dongwang river to Guxue village, where your driver will pick you up and drive back to Zhongdian. Stay at a 4 star Hotel in Zhongdian. |

D10 |
Drive from Zhongdian to Lijiang, a beautiful old town which is a World Culture Heritage. Sightseeing in the old town, Stay in a 4 star hotel. |

D11 |
Take a morning flight back to Kunming, Sightseeing in the Dragon Gate which consists of some grottoes cut out of the vertical cliff face of the Western Hill, from where, you will enjoy a bird's eye view of the Kunming city and the big lake at the foot of the mountain. Afterward, relax in Flower and Bird Market in the old part of the city. Stay in a 4 star hotel. |
