Yunnan is situated
in the southwest corner of China, borders Tibet, Burma, Laos
and Vietnam, it has everything from towering snow mountain to
tropical rain forest, so it is very rich in tourism resources.
Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, is called the Spring
City of China. Xishuangbanna is a Dai Autonomous Prefecture
in the south part of Yunnan, it has the largest tropical rain
forest reserve in China, and has the best tropical botanical
garden in China. Luxi(Mangshi) is the capital of Dehong Dai
and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. Ruili is a prosperous border
town with Burma.

Enter China from Laos through the Mohan Pass and arrive at Jinghong.
Drive through a marvelously rich and fecund area, holding one quarter of China's animals and one sixth of its plant species. En route, stop at a typical Dai village and market, the Dai people is one of Yunnan's major minority groups. In Menglun, you will visit the Tropical Garden, one of the richest botanical concentrations in the world. |

Visit the Wild Elephant Valley which is a nature reserve to the north of Jinghong, trekking in the tropical rain forest, overnight at the Up-Tree Hotel inside the reserve, you might see the wild elephant if you are lucky. |

Drive from Jinghong to Simao. Excursion through a lush and overflowing jungle filled with dense greenery. (160km, about 4hours drive) In the afternoon , visit the Meizihu Park ,a lake which got its name from the Meizihe River that flows into the lake. Around the lake are green hills with tall pine trees reflected in the water. |

Drive to Jianshui through subtropical landscape and fabulous view of deep ravines, endless terraced rice paddies, sugar-cane and tea plantations. Stop at villages to discover the countryside life of the Chinese peasants. |

In the morning visit of Jianshui which was in ancient time a very important political center and is still today a very interesting city because of its special architecture : the Temple of Confucius set in a magnificent way with its glistening glazed tiled roof; the garden of the Family Zhu, a typical residential structure of southern Yunnan; the Twin Dragon Bridge which was built during the Qing Dynasty. After lunch drive to Stone forest through very beautiful scenery Dinner at local restaurant with Sani people's singing and dancing show. Overnight at the Stone Forest. |

In the morning , visit the Stone Forest, one of China's most remarkable nature wonders. The Stone Forest consists of innumerable bizarre-shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 270 million years ago. After the visit, drive to Kunming (90km 1.5 hours). |

Visit the Western Hills, Dragon Gate and Huating Temple . In the afternoon, visit the Golden Temple which is the largest bronze-made temple in China with a 330 years history. |

Visit the Grand View Pavilion, Yuantong Temple, a 1200 year-old temple built in Tang Dynasty. in the afternoon ,visit the birds and flower market. |

Drive from Kunming to Dali, a very peaceful old town which was the capital of Yunnan from 8th to 13th century. Overnight In Dali. |

Sightseeing In Dali. Visit the Three Pagodas which is more than 1000 years old and has survived about 400 earthquakes recorded in the history books, then take chair-lift to go up
Cangshan Mountain from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Erhai Lake.

Drive to Baoshan. One the way, you will cross Mekong river. Upon arrival Baoshan, visit the
Taibao Park and the Sleeping Buddha Temple. Overnight In Baoshan. |

Drive to Ruili, the border town with Burma. On the way, sightseeing in the Pagoda wrapped in a tree in Luxi, and the One Single Tree Forest which is a very large banyan tree looks like a forest. Overnight in Ruili. |

One whole day tour in Ruili. Visit some Dai and Jingpo ethnic villages. In the evening, visit the fascinating Night Market which is very prosperous with a lot of businessmen from neighbor countries. Overnight in Ruili. |

Departure Ruili, drive across China--Burma border in the morning. |
