Located
in the northern part of Jia Shan County in Zhejiang Province,
Xi Tang boasts a gorgeous natural environment. There are nine
rivers crossing at the town, dividing the town into eight sections
of land connected by the bridges. Most of the houses along the
rivers are constructions of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The town
is characterized by its numerous rivers, bridges and small Lanes.
At a bird's eye view, you will see shadows of all houses along the green rivers. In the morning, stream can be heard bubbing under the small bridge. The black roofs and the white walls of the houses can
barely be seen through the misty air.

Apart form its picturesue natural scenery, Xi Tang is also a place for man of letters. During the 427 years from Ming to Qing
Dynasties, there had been over 50 people whose names are recorded in history holding different positions in the court. There were nine intellectual associations of poets and painters in Xi Tang which left behind a huge amount of works of poetry and painting.
